MYTH  &  MAGIC   WREN�S  RUNES

          Ancient symbols hand engraved on glass, stone and bronze as

               talismans, jewelry, altar pieces, divination sets, etc., etc.

 

 

     Since time immemorial, mankind has carried talismans for a variety of                       

purposes:  good hunting, protection, fertility, strength, etc.  The earliest

evidences of symbols found in cave paintings and carvings slowly evolved

into organized systems, one of which was the Runes.  The 'alphabet' that

I employ is called the Elder Futhark, which was used in Norway and the

Scandinavian countries up until recent times.

     I became intrigued with the world of metaphysics in my late teens, and

from that time on have studied different esoteric systems either on my own,

 in classes, or in privately tutored training sessions.

     As an artist and calligrapher, the development of symbols into language

 has been of special interest to me.  In 1990, my late husband and I

opened a shop (Salamander) in Key West, and at his suggestion, I began

engraving runes on his bronze work.  My engraving abilities have led me

into new areas of creativity, and I now offer a unique line of talismans

using bind-runes (a sort of monogram of runic symbols).

     Runes have been my focus since the mid 80's, and I have branched out

into Celtic and other magical systems.  By concentrating on these early

symbol systems, I am attempting to create a link between modern and

ancient times.  Through the use of talismans comes a feeling of continuity

in purpose with the earliest 'civilizations'.  It is my hope that we may all

re-learn our ancestors' reverence for Mother Earth in order to heal ourselves

 and the planet, and to feel once again the bright blessings of the Universe.
